Daily

In 2021 I started taking my Polaroid cameras with me on throughout my daily adventures and explorations.
This is a collection of what interesting (or not-so-interesting) snapshots I captured during those days.
Although there may not feel like there is a consistent theme or thread I find that it is exactly that which makes this collection so special.
I force myself into variety and each a day I'm left with some new idea, thought, or inspiration for what can/will come next.
Enjoy them by following me on twitter and stay tuned for more ways to participate with this collection in the future!
Adopt

Adoption is one of those things. On the surface adopting seems to have so many benefits, but each story is unique and so deep.
I want to learn more about what it means to be adopted. I want to hear the stories, the great benefits to being adopted, and the hard challenges that come with being adopted.
There is so much I don't know; but I'm here to learn, here to listen.
If you, or someone you know has a story of how adoption has impacted your life I would be honored to hear your story...
Dan Lewis

I grew up with polaroid cameras at family reunions... Snap! Shake, Shake, Shake. "Can I see it?!" It was magic.
Photography has changed a lot since then and I've witnessed all of it.
Recently I was photographing a wedding with my wife and we took a pack of Polaroid 600 film with us along with our DSLRs and something was rekindled in me. A renewed appreciation of the analog magic of a Polaroid Instant camera.

I've spent much of my life with one foot on the forefront of technology and the other hesitant to leave the tried-and-true nature of the past. This project continues that thread...
In 2021 I started playing with an SX-70 and I started seeing the art that is this project.
You'll see some of the series that I'm working on, but there is so much more where these came from. Ideas that further the integration of the past and the present. Ideas I can hardly wait to share with you.
You've got to start somewhere and I'm so honored you're here with me at the beginning of this chapter!
